While Mosquito Squad protects families from the nuisance of mosquitoes, we understand that for many around the world the mosquito bite can be deadly. The most prevalent mosquito-borne disease is Malaria. Over 250 million Africans contract this preventable and treatable disease each year, resulting in over 1,000 deaths each day.
6 years ago The Squad started combatting Malaria through our partnership with Malaria No More, a global nonprofit organization with the goal of ending Malaria. While that goal may seem lofty, keep in mind malaria was eradicated from the United States just 50 years ago.
Our franchisees and corporate staff have warmly embraced our relationship with Malaria No More. Through donations The Squad has raised well over $250,000 to help stop Malaria. And we’re not just sending money. Franchisees have traveled to Africa with Malaria No More to see first-hand the difference that we’re making through educational programs, protective bed nets and malaria tests and treatment.
While we’re passionate about the fight against Malaria, we also know that it’s important to today’s consumers that companies give back. According to a Cone Cause Evolution Survey, 87% of consumers say they would switch service providers if the brand was associated with a good cause (if price and quality of service remained the same).
